The Invitation

Why "Liquid"?

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters” Isaiah 55:1

We are a thirsting generation. We seek in the world, and we cannot find. We turn to the church and yet...we still cannot find.

There is an ongoing struggle between this generation’s thirst for the living God and doubt as to whether the local church is the place where they can come to quench this thirst. We believe it is.

We invite you to Liquid Conference, to join in with churches and individuals across Michigan to seek God’s answer for our generation’s Silent Exodus, to affirm our identity as His children, to build up the local church as His will, and to connect together for survival and growth. Through worship, seminars, small groups, and prayer, we hope the Holy Spirit will redirect our generation’s footsteps into His church once again.

Why should you attend?

In Isaiah 55:1, there is a call to the thirsty to come to the waters. We believe that this call reaches us today. There are young people that are thirsty for God in our region, but they are struggling with whether their local church is the place where they can draw this Living Water. We believe it is.

We hope to gather young people, just like you, throughout our region to do as the prophet Isaiah says in verse 6: "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near." As we Seek God together and call out for his answer for our generation, we know that God will help you and the church to become more equipped and more fluid to reach those that thirst within this region.

We believe that God is the primary actor in the this story called "life". We are just participating in the amazing work that God is already doing. What has God been doing in your life? How is God working in your church? In your ministries?

Child of God

God Loves You and Delights In You

How do we do this? First we remind ourselves that by the grace of God we are not left as orphans, but rather that we have been brought into sonship by Jesus Christ. We are heirs and co-heirs with Christ and so we cry out to Him, “Abba, Father.” We are His Children whom he looks upon with love. He delights in us and rejoices over us. We are His Children, nothing more, nothing less.

I am a child of God.

Local Church

Spirit-Led Missional Community

We believe that the Church is the will of God.

It is not the building. It is not a Sunday worship. It is the gathering of His children, a moving body reaching and flowing into the lives of the lost.

We are imperfect representations of Christ; our churches are broken and imperfect too. But the Word says without doubt, “Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.” (Ephesians 5:23) And so we aim to correct, discipline, and grow in obedience to His will within the Church, rather than looking elsewhere.

Local Church

We do not need something other than the church. The church is the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:27) and we belong to this body. We need the church, but it is more than just the brick and mortar structures of our past, but the church must be more fluid to reach the spiritual thirst of our world.

What does it mean for the church to be liquid? It means to be solid in our foundational beliefs, while taking forms that will be able to flow to all the areas that need God's grace.

Silent Exodus

Young Adult Issues

So many young adults are leaving the church in present times that this epidemic has been deemed a “Silent Exodus”. ‘It is my parents’ faith, not mine’, ‘it is hypocritical’, ‘it is boring’, ‘it is too cliquey’, ‘I am not being fed’, ‘it has no meaning’--the reasons are many and varying, but we get it: the church is not being what it should be. But instead of looking at departure as the answer, we want to build it back up brick by brick, to become once again faithful to Christ as His bride. We want to end the exodus here.

Connected

We're About the Big 'C' Church

WE SEE A FOREST, NOT A TREE

Ecclesiastes 4:11-12, "If two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

How do the great Sequia's in the Redwood Forest keep standing even in the wildest of storms? It's because the redwood's root systems reach out for great distances and are intertwined with one another. They literally hold each up other up.

We believe that our ministries must be connected to survive.
